Adult man, 73-years-old
- six months after myocardial infarction -, admitted with pain in the right
leg. Physical examination reveals a pale, pulseless right leg.

Acute embolism may
occure after myocardial infarction caused by mobilized mural thrombus or other
cardiac disease (e.g. diseased valves). Another causes are atrial fibrillation,
polycythaemia and left atrial myxomas.
